"I wanted to experiment with sparklers at night. So I set the shutter speed to the 'B' setting and held it open for long periods of time, about a half a minute or so, while me and one of my friends ran around waving the sparklers. In some of the photos we had tried to spell out words, but that didn't end up working out. I also didn't use a tripod for this. They actually came out a lot better than I had expected."
