The picture of the girl is supposed to represent depression, anorexia, and a feeling of a dream that is real. The subject is a girl who actully went through all of these problem through her life so far. I also had her put on makeup to make her look dead (black eyeliner and white shimmer eyeshadow). when i developed the picture i put finger prints on the negetive and droped the developer on the photo.

"Photo Journalist Project" By Julie B.

"For my photojournalist project I took pictures of Rosendale near where I live and I chose to take pictures there because I like the scenery and I thought the gazebo was a really pretty spot. The sign that says Rosendale on it definitely fit my project, If I were to show my pictures one by one I would show that one first. I think anyone looking at that picture would know I was being a photojournalist. The picture of the car wasn't planned which I like. I like the fact that if I wasn't there at that time I wouldnt have had that picture. I also like the picture of the sign because of the contrast, and you can also see the gazebo in the background of that picture."

"Portrait" By Kerry M.

"My original proposal was for a white-on-white photo, which still interests me, but i could never find lighting that really worked with my intended subjects. So, on an expedition to Woodstock to meet my NYSSMA accompanist, I stopped to pick up a crazy hat for my friend's birthday. My mom was being silly with the hat, which is odd; the photo actually looks quite the opposite. The beautiful sunlight created a soft, glowing effect around the edges of the frame, and i liked the way it added interest to the photo. You can't tell, but the straw hat is actually a rainbow!"

"I wanted to experiment with sparklers at night. So I set the shutter speed to the 'B' setting and held it open for long periods of time, about a half a minute or so, while me and one of my friends ran around waving the sparklers. In some of the photos we had tried to spell out words, but that didn't end up working out. I also didn't use a tripod for this. They actually came out a lot better than I had expected."

"Photojournalist: My Savannah" by Caroline B.

"During Spring break I was down South and spent a day in Savannah, Georgia. I really liked the place because it's more old fashioned than most cities and it's very unique. My goal was to take the pictures so you could tell it was a historic place but my underlying goal was to take pictures people don't usually think to take in new places."
